Community Outreach Programs

In an effort to serve our local community and deepen our training of loving Kindness and compassion, the Colorado Ratnashri has several outreach programs which are detailed below. 2006 - Benefactors of your generosity

This year several families from the sangha and outside the sangha as well as Anyen Rinpoche helped in the organization and distribution of the collected goods. Anyen Rinpoche tended the children as the others feverishly organized the large amount of donated goods. We packed everything and headed to our usual bodhisattva donation grounds at Lawrence and Park Ave in downtown Denver next to the Denver Rescue Mission. Below is the totals of items we collected.

Compassion In Action - Winter
We are collecting select items throughout the year to distribute to the local homeless in the Denver and Boulder area's. You will notice at all Colorado Ratnashri events a box labeled "Compassion in Action Donations". Before handing out all the offerings, they were included in a Guru Rinpoche tsok and blessed by the practice.

Select Items of Interest:

  • Scarfs
  • Winter hats
  • Winter gloves
  • Blankets
  • Ear warmers
  • Books (Spanish and English)
  • Socks
  • Backpacks
  • Monetary Donations (All donations are tax deductable. CRS is a Federal 501c3 Charity)

Food Collection for Local Homeless Shelters
We are collecting non-perishable food items throughout the year to distribute to the local homeless in the Denver and Boulder area's. You will notice at all Colorado Ratnashri events a box labeled "Compassion in Action Donations". Before handing out all the offerings, they are included in a tsok and blessed by the practice.

Pujas for Sick and Dying
Request the following pujas for sick or dying persons. The colorado ratnashri sanghas in Boulder and/or Aurora will perform the the following pujas once a month. The person(s) name will be read and placed on the alter. In your email please indicate which puja you would like to have performed. If you require something special or need immediate assistance please email outreach@coloradratnashri.net with details and we will respond within 24 to 48 hours in most cases.

Medicine Buddha - For persons sick.
Amitabha - For persons dying or that have died.
Green Tara - Removal of obstacles.
Dorje Drollo and Fire Puja -  Removal of obstacles.
